Our sustainability program strategy
Our sustainability strategy is based on implementation of EN ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) and EN ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) standards into all of our processes.
By applying these principles of environmental and social responsibility we focus on the following 4 step strategy:
Reducing carbon footprint
We use only natural energy that is obtained from an autonomous mini-hydroelectric power station for all of our manufacturing, cutting and warehouse facilities’ needs in order to optimize energy consumption.
Our next step in reducing electricity consumption is to change all lighting systems in our facilities to LED within next year.
Improving raw material sustainability
Sustainable raw materials supply plays a fundamental role in our sustainability program. All of our raw material suppliers have implemented ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certificates and the majority of them have implemented ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Certificates.
All used in Juan Gili S.L. manufacturing process are raw materials manufactured free of child labor and are not classified as hazardous to health or the environment according to the CLP regulation.
Reducing waste and packaging
Our manufacturing processes are based on low-waste
technologies which allow us to reduce generated waste.
Juan Gili S.L. waste, packaging recycling and reuse system consists of sorting, disposal and recycle of certain types of waste and packaging and is based on and corresponds to Spanish legislative requirements for packaging recycling.
We have optimized the usage of paper documents by using a new business management software.
Corporate social responsibility
We are continuously improving working conditions of our employees and partners by organizing safe and healthy workspace conditions.
